FAQ

Who can donate a device?

Anyone, anywhere. We accept device donations worldwide.

What condition does my device need to be in?

Working, or in need of repair that's realistically fixable — a cracked screen, dead battery, or slow performance is exactly what our volunteer technicians can bring back to life. We can't use devices that are water-damaged beyond repair, missing major components, or that you already know won't power on or hold a repair.

Will my personal data be safe?

Yes. Every device is professionally wiped of all personal data before refurbishment. You're responsible for backing up anything you want to keep beforehand.

How do I get my device to you?

Choose drop-off, local pickup, or mail-in (Jamaica or US only) when you fill out the donation form.

Who can receive a refurbished device?

Currently, Techno Bank devices are only available to applicants living in Jamaica.

How do I qualify?

Fill out a short application explaining what you need a device for — school, a work-from-home job, or job searching. Applications are self-reported and reviewed based on need and device availability.

Is a device guaranteed once I apply?

No. We do our best to match applicants with available devices, but we can't guarantee one to every applicant.

How long does it take?

It depends on donation volume and volunteer availability. We'll reach out by email or phone once a matching device is ready.

Is this a training program?

No. We're looking for people who already have real repair or electronics experience and are willing to donate their time — not a program for learning repair skills from scratch.

Is this position paid?

No, it's unpaid, volunteer work.

Do I need a certificate or diploma to apply?

Formal certification is welcome but not required. If you're self-taught, you can submit equivalent proof instead — photos of past repair work, a portfolio, or a reference letter from an employer or client.

What does the application involve?

A short screening form about your experience and availability, plus emailing your resume and proof of skill separately.

Is Techno Bank a registered nonprofit? Are contributions tax-deductible?

Not yet. Techno Bank is currently an informal community initiative run by IT876 Solutions, working toward formal nonprofit registration. Contributions are not tax-deductible at this time.

What do financial contributions fund?

Refurbishment costs, parts, and back-to-school support for recipients.

How do I contribute?

Submit the contribution form with your preferred method (local bank transfer for Jamaica, Zelle for the US). We'll follow up by email with payment details — we don't post account information publicly for your security.

Who runs Techno Bank?

Techno Bank is a community initiative operated by IT876 Solutions.

Is this connected to IT876 Solutions' paid services?

No. Techno Bank is a separate, unpaid community give-back program, distinct from IT876 Solutions' commercial web design and IT services.
